When I did the online repair per the instructions, it said that it was working step 1 of 4 but then never proceeded to steps 2 and 3.

I purchased office home and student directly from the Microsoft site and after installing it on my Windows 10 machine, I could not get Word to open. The other three applications excel, powerpoint, one note are working fine. I spent all night trying fixes posted on-line such as the repair function etc with no success. Word will not even start in safe mode. I was able through powerpoint to download the latest office update not sure why I should have to do that anyhow since I purchased directly from the microsoft store.
